18 Months Old

Carter is 18 months old today...He now weighs 30 lbs (92 percentile) & is 33 3/4 inches long (85 percentile)...
:some of his favorite things are:
-jumping off the couch onto blankets, bean bags, or to dad
-being outside
-hunting movies
-the bubble gum machines at my parents house
-playing pool
-loves peaches, cereal, pasta's
-playing with his niece's & nephew's
-helping dad tile downstairs
-reading books
-playing football with dad & Diesel
-riding & jumping his 4-wheeler
-eating "sicles"
-the nerf gun at my parents
-sitting in his "baby" chair He can say anything you tell him to say & he is getting very smart- Still is as happy as can be all the time & always has a smile on his face-makes us laugh quite a bit, he is sure a character!!!...We love you Carter Cub!

Santa

On Saturday my mom & I took Carter to see Santa. It kinda played out how I thought it would...He was totally fine - until I set him on Santa's lap then he had a meltdown...Happy he's in mommy's arms---Thought I'd give it one more shot...Wasn't happening...
It was so cute though, cause once we got back to the car he kept saying "santa nice"...He was definitely not a huge fan of santa this year-but he is obsessed with saying "santa" & looking out the window at our blow up "santas" & "deers" every night!

Shoveling Snow

This is Carter's first year of actually being able to go out & be in the snow...We went out the other night to shovel off the sidewalks & he thought that was so fun...
He'd follow Justin around & try & do the exact same thing he was doing...Its been too cold to actually stay out and 'play' in the snow, but it's been fun to go out & at least let him see what the snow is like.

Family Pictures

We had some new family pictures taken... It was pretty dang cold but we managed to get some cute ones-Carter cooperated until he knew there was water to throw rocks into, luckily we had already got good ones by then!!!

Toys?

Who needs toys for christmas-when your cleaning out your storage & he's more entertained by the "babies" stuff!!!"cheeeeeese"

Thanksgiving

This year for Thanksgiving we were able to do both families again. My mom's side of the family did a lunch out at my parents house , and then we had dinner up at Justin's parents with his family. Such good food at both!!! It always fun to spend time with family that you don't get to see as often as your own. I'm so thankful that both our families live so close.

My Favorites

These are just a few of my favorite things Carter is doing/saying right now...

-Every morning when he wakes up, he just sits & says "ma, ma" over & over until I go & get him out of his crib & we have to get his three "blankies", his "ba ba", and his "bear" before he'll get out.

-He says "yes" whenever you ask him something- if its something he wants.

-When we wake up, we turn on cartoons & have to eat "cereal" out of his little cup.

-How he says "sees ya" & "buh bye" while waving & walking away

-Gives "kisses"

-When he says "ut uh" & shakes his head

-When he tells me he's going potty & says "aw mom, bum, bum"

-He says "shoot" & he knows when to say it.

-Everytime he says "dad" or "daddy" he points to himself, cause before when he called everyone mom Justin would point to himself & say dad.

-He loves "ice" cream cones-eats the whole thing everytime

-When your reading a book & you lick your finger to turn the page-so does he

-He knows his "shoes" , "socks", "shirt" & "jacket"

-How its all about "daddy" once he gets home from work.

-When you say Carter-he yells back "what"

He is turning into such a jabber jaws-he can & will say anything you tell him to say.

"Moneys"

Carter knows where the "moneys" are in the drawer, so he gets his giraffe piggy bank out, goes into the kitchen & brings back two pennies ...every time. Its the cutest thing to watch him get all concentrated, put the pennie in his fingers just right, & push it in...This is the first time he did it all by himself-- he was so proud!!!
He's already got it down though, so it doesn't entertain him very long now...

Furnace

The other morning Carter & I woke up & the house was at 63 degrees-freezing. So I tried turning the furnace up cause I usually keep it at 68 at nights so I was confused...The air & furnace would kick on but no heat-great! So I call my dad, tell him what was happening- maybe check the filter or a few other things-I didn't know how to do any of that of course so we just put the portable heater in the front room for the day & waited for Justin to get home. Once he gets home he went straight downstairs & started checking it out- checked all sorts of things for probably about an hour...nothing...Our neighbor Kyle came over & they checked things out for about a half hour -finally the last thing they figured out was that the three red blinks on the furnace meant to check the pressure switch...So, they go outside & sure enough Carter had stuffed a golf ball in the pressure tube so the air wasn't able to get through:) So glad we hadn't called someone to come look at it, that sure would have been embarrassing! What a kid!!!

Happy Halloween!

We had such a fun Halloween this year... We made the trek out to my parents house & then made the rounds to a few other family members & friends! Carter was such a 'monkey' at every single house we went to-he was so friendly & loved all the attention! He would put his hands in his armpits & make the "ooo,ooo" sounds & say trick-or-treat as well...
When Nicole was trying to get a picture of them together-Carter kept running off & Shae said "it's okay Carter, i'm just a kitty-meow" She is too funny!
At last we made it back into town & did a little trick-or-treating with cousin kitty Shae & pirate Janson-Carter thought that was pretty cool to run house to house & see the "scary" decorations, say "trick or treat" & grab a handful of treats... & the bad news of the night, Justin got a speeding ticket, bummer! Hope everyone had a fun filled Halloween!!!

Carving Pumpkins

This was Carter's first time carving pumpkins...He didn't have a long enough attention span to sit & watch us carve them-he just kept saying "eyes" & "pumpkin"... I made the mistake of scary "ewww scary" to one of the pumkpins faces & then he didn't even want to be by them! He had no idea why we were carving them-but he liked to throw the pumpkin seeds...it was a fun family night!!!

Raking Leaves

Since Carter was so young during fall last year, this is his first time playing in the leaves-He loved to run & jump in the big pile!! He got a kick out of hiding Diesels ball in the leaves & watching him dig through to find it... Once he goes outside for a little while he is totally not about going back in-that's the only hard part! I wish fall stayed around a lot longer, we are so not ready for colder weather or the snow!

Dad's 50!!

My dad's big 50th birthday was on Saturday...We all went out to eat at Sizzler on Sunday for his celebration...He doesn't look 50 at all-still lookin good :) His big present will be here shortly!!!Hope you had a great birthday-Thanks for everything you do for us dad! We love you!

Pumpkin Walk

Saturday we decided to attempt the pumpkin walk. It actually wasn't as busy as I thought, I was surprised... Carter didn't care one bit about the pumpkins or the cute scenes- but once we got to the end & he seen the kids running around putting their heads in the wood cutouts he thought that was the coolest thing ever...He would stand in each one & say cheese until I took his picture then run to the next one & put his head in & smile!!! He's too cute :D

My Deer

Last night, me, Justin & my brother Justin went up hunting again, this was going to be one of our last chances at going so I would have shot anything we seen with horns-luckily we saw a decent sized one...Got him my first shot with the 30-6 right in the heart, only ran about 20 yards & then dropped. Only my elk tag to fill now, hopefully we see one on Saturday!!!

Justin's Deer!

Justin shot a deer Sunday morning, luckily he is such a good shot ;) ;) that we didn't have to track it very far...I would have shot it-but it was on the run so I for sure would have missed:) ...It is really pretty up there right now & hasn't been too cold. So, I can't complain about hunting this year!!! Now I just need to fill my deer & elk tags...

Carter is not a fan of any dead animals with horns we have decided :) unless the head is off & they are in the hunting room- so he doesn't realise what they really are!!

Trooper!

He's been such a trooper this past week with hunting & getting dropped off at grandma Perry's almost every morning & night for a few hours... We haven't had much luck hunting yet but hopefully soon!

Carter is totally in the 'Mr independent' stage right now. He is getting pretty good at doing everything himself, or at least trying. Its sad he is already this big & is doing things on his own, but he is super smart & I am so grateful to be able to stay home & spend everyday with him!! He is always smiling & making us laugh at the little things he comes up with...We've realised, mainly lately, that he really is such a blessing to our family, I don't know what we would do without him!

Talking!

Carter is starting to talk a bunch & it is so cute! He can pretty much say anything you tell him to but his favorite is 'Dies'- he'll sit & yell to Dies over & over to come or if Diesel won't give him his toys he'll yell Dies in his mad voice. His newest word is 'please', every time he wants something I make him say 'please' & he already has it down! We are working on 'thank you' :) I think the cutest by far is-he'll lift up his shirt & as clear as ever tell you "belly button"...He can say a bunch of other little words like juice, cheese, water, push, bum, shoot, drink, shoes, stinky (while plugging his nose) He knows where his nose, eyes, ears & hair are. Its crazy to me how smart he already is & how fast he is catching onto talking!He is such a monkey lately. He has to climb on anything that is even somewhat off the ground! His monkey costume for Halloween will fit him perfectly!I can tell he is already bummed that the weather has turned off cold & he can't go outside-He sits at the baby gate & says 'please, please'...He doesn't quite understand why he can't go out, but once we get outside he goes 'brrrr' so hopefully he'll realise why I'm not letting him out soon!!!& he is officially obsessed with Shrek!...I'm pretty sure Justin & I have it memorized :D

First Bow Hunt

Justin shot his first bull elk with his bow on Monday. They called them in & sat & listened to them bugle for about an hour & then they called them right into where they were! Justin's got within 35 yards of them!!!
Jake called on Monday morning & said he had just shot one from about 10 feet away & that there were tons more up there. Crazy-they both got a bull on the same day-their first year of bow hunt~Both of them were so pumped!!!

Can Opener

I'm sittin on the couch watching tv & Carter comes into the room with this...One thing in each hand, sits it down & starts trying to open it...WOW! Is he really this smart already? He has only seen me using this a few times. What a smarty pants, I better keep my eyes on him better:)

Park

We've been trying to take Carter to the park as much as possible since it is starting to cool down outside! So, on Saturday we took him & he was the only kid there. He had such a blast (as always)He says "weeee" while he swingsHe loves to go down the slides all by himself! He finally got to spin on the merry go around for once since there were no big kids around & he thought that was the coolest thing ever & didn't want to get off!!!

After about a half hour of being in his room he was having to find new ways to entertain himself...He is such a climber lately-He is always trying to climb up on everything, & then 'jump' off.

Calm Boy-sometimes!

On Sunday Justin & I decided to put Shrek in to see if Carter would actually sit still for more than 10 seconds & watch it. I was so surprised he sat there for about 20 minutes in this exact spot & was so amused by it-Probably because he was thinking why are those huge green things talking & why can that donkey talk... I think that is the longest he has ever sat still :) LOL!Today me, Nicole, Sheri & Lacey went to the cannery to can meats-so Ed got the privilege to babysit Carter & Shae. He must have done a pretty good job at wearing them out because Carter fell asleep eating right when we got home & he has never done that before!

He's been such a handful,lately especially with his little tantrums that Justin loves :) *gets him stoked to have more kids:)* But he is getting so smart & can say lots of things now...I can't get enough of him everyday-being a mom is the best!

Helper

My mom & dad took Carter Friday night because Dack & Tay were spending the night too & those 3 can't kids can't get enough of each other. Carter was being such a good helper, he would follow Dack around everywhere, sweep the rocks & do everthing grandpa & Dack were doing.He even got to ride in the tractor with grandpa. He is definetly 100% boy-he is all about getting dirty & throwing rocks!

Feeding Ducks

On Saturday we decided to go up to First Dam & feed the ducks. When we first got there I said to Justin 'how are we going to get any ducks to come'-so we just threw a few peices of bread & here came about 100 ducks & geese from every direction... Carter loved to throw bread to the ducks {ready, set, go} & quack at them, but he was so scared of the big geese & wanted to be held when they were around...

Riverdale Resort

This past Tuesday was the last Tuesday that my mom watches my niece & nephew because school has started for all of them-so my mom decided to take us all to Riverdale for the day! Carter had so much fun, it was overcast & the water is warm so he loved it & was such a fish! Taycee & my mom entertained Carter a lot because Dack couldn't get enough of the slides...
He crashed for about an hour & then was ready to go for more! We all had such a fun time-we'll definitely be going back!!!

Slacker!

It's hard to keep up with a one year old during the summer :) His horse is stored in the laundry room so everytime I go down to do laundry now this is perfect :) I'm sure he is over the weight limit-but he loves it now that he actually knows what a horse is & knows what noise it makes...
Carter loves to drink out of the hose-almost everytime we go outside he comes back in soaken wet!He's now got the hang of his four-wheeler. He still won't actually ride it around the yard -he just rides it for a couple minutes then gets off.Diesel & Carter can't get enough of each other. They are playing every chance they get!Carter loves to hold Justins arrows while he is shooting his bow & then he'll walk up with Justin to take them out of the target. So cute. He's going to be a great hunter this year :)

Anniversary!

Happy 30th Anniversary to my mom & dad today! Hopefully we'll be able to follow in their foot steps- We love you guys so much!!! Thanks for everything you do for us.

Carnival Rides

On Thursday my mom bought the grandkids & Wendi wrist bands for the rides at the fair. Taycee was so nice & would go on the baby rides with Carter over & over...We were there all day long & they all had a blast!So sad that summer is coming to an end!!!

Carter do-ings

Carter runs around saying 'I want this' 'I want this' & he won't stop saying it until you hand him what he is pointing at-he defintely has that saying down-must get it from his dad :)He's started to think he can feed himself with his spoon & fork-Mr independent!! He is kind of good at it but it usually ends up all over his face or all over the floor-Guess he has to learn sometime!!He is always in Diesels dog food-it seems like no matter where we put it, he finds a way to dump it out & throw it all over the floor. His personality is so cute & he is still always so happy-He copies everything Justin & I do. He loves balls & his bat-Justin will hold his ball in his hand & Carter hits it off & he can throw really good too...He throws everything!!! Justin chases Carter around the house & scares him & Carter loves it! He sits & squeals right here in the doorway until Justin chases after him!

I remember when I thought he would never say 'mama' -well the day has come. He grabs my legs & yells 'ma, ma' all day long- now only if he'd go back to saying 'dad' some of the time :)
